Ashes 2021: Sibley wants to regain India selection: England’s middle-order batter Dominic Sibley has decided to withdraw from the England Lions’ squad for the Australia tour, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) informed on Thursday. The Lions are touring Australia with the England Ashes squad for intra-squad games.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), on Thursday, released a statement to inform about Sibley’s decision and also said that Yorkshire batsman Harry Brook will replace Sibley in the Lions’ squad. “After much thought and consideration, Warwickshire batter Dom Sibley has made the decision not to tour Australia with the England Lions.

“Sibley has decided to spend the winter working on his batting at home in a bid to regain England selection,” England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said in a statement.

“Yorkshire batsman Harry Brook has been added to the Lions squad,” the statement read.

The Lions alongside Test specialists selected in the England Ashes squad will depart for Australia on 4 November. They will play two intrasquad games, one of three days and one of four days, in Queensland. They are also touted to play Australia A in a four-day match. However, the dates and venue for the same have not been disclosed yet.
