Despite maintaining a commendable strike rate of 140.68, fans have questioned whether the renowned batsman should have displayed more aggression right from the outset.
Having won the toss and opted to bowl first, Kolkata put the onus of scoring on Kohli for Bengaluru. The early dismissal of Bengaluru’s captain, Faf du Plessis, for 8 runs off 6 balls increased the pressure on Kohli, prompting him to adopt a more cautious approach.
