Another IPL, another problem for CSK vs MI tickets! 1.6 lakh people in waiting list for 38k Chepauk seats

The problem for ticket sales in nothing new in IPL. With the CSK vs MI game being the fierce rivalry, the trouble soared again.

The electrifying rivalry between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) is once again making headlines—not just for the on-field action but for the chaos off it. With the IPL 2025 clash set for March 23 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, the ticketing process has left thousands of fans frustrated and empty-handed.

Lakhs of people in wait for CSK vs MI tickets

Online sales for the much-anticipated match began at 10:15 AM on Wednesday, but within minutes, all tickets were gone. The process seemed to be quite frustrating for all the fans, who showed their anger on social media.

With only 38,000 seats at Chepauk but over 1.6 lakh fans attempting to book, disappointment was inevitable. Until a more transparent and fan-friendly ticketing system is put in place, IPL’s loyal supporters will continue to battle for a seat in the stands.

Scalping and Black Market Prices Soar

Even before CSK officially announced ticket sales for their home games, resale platforms were flooded with exorbitantly priced tickets. On Viagogo, a seat in the KMK Lower stand was listed at a staggering Rs 85,380, while the cheapest available ticket started at Rs 12,512. Reports also surfaced of tickets being hoarded by scalpers looking to profit off desperate fans.
