Another injury setback for Ashton Agar, after Cricket World Cup, set to miss IND vs AUS T20 series

Ashton Agar has a recurrence of calf injury that forced him to miss the World Cup. Now, the all-rounder is set to miss the five-match T20 series against india.

Australian all-rounder Ashton Agar is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines as he has a recurrence of the injury that kept him out of Cricket World Cup 2023. He is now set to miss the five-match IND vs AUS T20 Series immediately after the WC. Australia Cricket Team called up Marnus Labuschagne as a replacement. Now, it remains to be seen who they pick for the India vs Australia T20s.

Ashton Agar suffered a torn calf injury that ruled him out of the T20 series against South Africa in August. While he did return for the ODIs against Proteas, he returned home after complaining of soreness. And as he failed to recover in time, he missed the Cricket World Cup with Marnus Labuschagne replacing him.

After making a recovery, Ashton Agar was looking to play in the Marsh Cup in order to prepare for the IND vs AUS T20 series. But he has once again suffered a setback.

“Given Agar is a nationally contracted player, WA Cricket will work closely with Cricket Australia to determine his return to play,” a WACA statement said.
