SL Playing XI vs BAN: Akila Dhananjaya eyes a spot as M Theekshana set to miss out against Bangladesh
Afghanistan has played only three T20 internationals against Zimbabwe since March last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and didn’t have an ideal preparation for the showpiece event. However, they looked in top-notch in the second warmup game against Windies. M Nabi-led side thrashed the defending champions by 56 runs and will be eying to carry the momentum against Scotland.
Afghanistan is placed in Super 12 Group 2 alongside former champions India and Pakistan as well as New Zealand. The top two sides from the two groups will advance to the semi-finals.
Once against skipper M Nabi, Rashid Khan, and Mujeeb Ur Rahman will be in focus forming a formidable spin attack. In two warmup games, M Nabi has picked up four wickets while Mujeeb has grabbed three. Mujeeb returned with 3-24 against South Africa in the first game while M Nabi dismantled Windies’ strong batting lineup with his 3-2 in the quota of four overs.

Scotland, on the other hand, will be eying another upset as they take on M Nabi who look a bit undercooked. Kyle Coetzer’s side caused an upset in their opening game against Bangladesh, beating Mahmudullah’s side by 6 runs. They have advanced into the Super 12 round unbeaten & will be eying their fourth win on the trot.
