The ICC ODI Cricketer of the Decade award winner, Virat Kohli, is ahead of teammate Rohit Sharma and Shakib al Hasan when it comes to the player with the most runs in the ODI World Cup among active players.

David Warner (1438 runs)

Veteran opener David Warner has played in three World Cups (2015, 2019 and 2023). The Southpaw won the trophy in 2015 and reached the semifinals in the 2019 edition.

Warner has made his runs at an average of 59.91. The left-hander has six centuries and four fifties to his name in ODI World Cups. He was also the second-highest run-getter in 2019, making 647 runs in 10 innings.

Rohit Sharma (1420 runs)

The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was the top-scorer (648) in the last edition of the World Cup, falling 26 runs short of the all-time record.

Sharma has played in the last two World Cups and has reached the semifinals in both editions.

Shakib al Hasan (1332 runs)

The left-hander has two centuries and eleven fifties to his name in ODI World Cups. He was also the third-highest run-getter in 2019, making 606 runs in 8 innings.

Kane Williamson (1084 runs)

The New Zealand skipper is playing in his fourth ODI World Cup (2011, 2015, 2019, and 2023) and is New Zealand’s highest run scorer in the event.

Williamson averages 63.76 in 24 innings, with two centuries and five fifties. The right-handed batter was the ‘player of the tournament’ in the last edition of the ODI World Cup.
