The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) isn’t changing their stance on the ‘no handshake’ policy for the India vs Pakistan cricket matches. It all started in September last year in the Men’s Asia Cup when Suryakumar Yadav and Team India snubbed Salman Ali Agha and Pakistan. 9 months later, the same continues in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.
No handshake in IND vs PAK match again
India women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and moved away from Pakistan women’s cricket team captain Fatima Sana. Harmanpreet was asked about the possibility of a handshake on the eve of the India vs Pakistan match, but didn’t directly address the question. Instead, she talked about the Women in Blue’s approach towards every match. It was expected that Harmanpreet and Fatima won’t greet each other and that’s exactly what happened.
Returning to the match, Harmanpreet opted to bat first at Edgbaston. The Indian skipper hopes to bat Pakistan out of the game by posting a target on the board. India’s combination is 6 batters, 4 bowlers, and 1 all-rounder. Bharti Fulmali gets the nod ahead of Yastika Bhatia. Renuka Singh Thakur, Radha Yadav and Nandani Sharma also miss out.
