3 all-rounders MI might target in IPL 2025 mega auction
The lack of quality all-rounders was one of the reasons why Mumbai Indians struggled last season. So which all-rounders will they target in the IPL 2025 mega auction?

Mumbai Indians will look to get back on track after a disastrous IPL 2024 season. There is a full chance that the MI will try to make some changes, with the mega auction approaching, and chances are that many big players may leave the team or be released by the franchise, while only a few will remain. There’s no question that in the IPL or any T20 league, the role of all-rounders is crucial, as they provide balance with both bat and ball. In IPL 2024, MI faced many challenges due to the lack of a lethal all-rounder. They had Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma last season, but couldn’t find more players like them. Now, they will surely look to acquire some good all-rounders. So, who are the all-rounders they can target in IPL 2025? Let’s take a look.

All-rounders MI should target in IPL 2025 mega auction

Glenn Maxwell

The first name could be debatable, as Glenn Maxwell is likely not to be retained by RCB in IPL 2025 due to his lackluster performance last season. If he gets released, he could become a target for many teams due to his all-rounder attributes. Whether it’s his aggressive batting, controlling runs, or taking wickets, he is surely a game-changing player who has shown his magic time and again. With the experience this 35-year-old possesses, there’s no doubt that Mumbai Indians, a team that values attacking batting and the ability to control runs in the middle overs, will look to grab him in the IPL 2025 auction.

Rachin Ravindra

Although this Kiwi cricketer didn’t get much opportunity to bowl last season for CSK, everyone is well aware of his all-round skills, whether it’s opening the batting or his bowling for New Zealand. Last season for CSK, Ravindra provided some nice quick starts but failed to capitalize. There’s a chance that the five-time champions may not retain him this time, as CSK might look to strengthen the squad with more established players. This could allow MI to jump in during the auction and look to acquire this star youngster for their team.

Rashid Khan

Can the Gujarat Titans release this star Afghanistan bowler? If they do, there’s a high possibility that MI will look to bring this star spin-bowling all-rounder into their camp. Looking back at IPL 2024, much like Maxwell for RCB, Rashid Khan didn’t have the kind of performance expected for Gujarat Titans. GT may consider revamping their squad, which could open the door for MI to grab him if he goes under the hammer in the auction.

MI currently lacks an experienced spinner, while they had names like Mohammed Nabi and Piyush Chawla, these players may not get another chance, creating space for Rashid Khan.
