In eye of Maxwell storm, Bas de Leede shatters Zampa & Lewis’ embarassing record

With Glenn Maxwell going hammer and tongs, Bas de Leede ended up conceding 115 runs in 10 overs, the most expensive spell in ODI cricket history.

Adam Zampa would be a happy man. He held an embarassing record. But with him present on the crease, Netherlands’ Bas de Leede broke his record of most runs conceded in an innings in ODIs. In the eye of Glenn Maxwell storm as he went hammer and tongs, recording fastest century of Cricket World Cup, De Leede ended up conceding 115 runs in 10 overs for two wickets. Two Australians — Adam Zampa and Mick Lewis had conceded 113 runs.

As Australia posted a mammoth 399/8, no bowlers were spared. But Bas de Leeded was at the receving end.
