Prithvi Shaw vs Sapna Gill: Delhi Capitals star batter Prithvi Shaw and his friend Ashish Surendra Yadav have been booked for criminal offenses. Bhojpuri actress Sapna Gill filed a complaint against them at the Andheri magistrate court. Sapna accused the cricketer and his friend of committing serious crimes in a public place. The charges against Shaw and his friend include molesting and physically assaulting Instagram model Sapna Gill with a deadly weapon, and outraging her modesty. Prithvi Shaw Booked After Criminal Complaint
According to Sapna’s statement, Shaw touched her breasts and pushed her away, which amounts to the serious crime of outraging her modesty. Sapna requested the registration of an FIR under sections 354, 509, and 324 of the IPC for allegedly hitting her with a bat. She also submitted medical evidence from a government hospital as crucial proof of sexual assault.
Airport police station personnel failed to register an FIR under IPC section 354 against Shaw based on Ms. Gill’s previous complaint. As a result, a separate complaint was filed against them for not fulfilling their duties. Ms. Gill’s lawyer Ali Kaashif Khan said that both matters are listed on 17 April for hearing.
Sapna Gill Arrested in This Case
It’s worth noting that Sapna Gill was previously arrested in the same case. On February 16, the Oshiwara police arrested Gill for reportedly assaulting Shaw at a Mumbai nightclub called Barrel Mansion Club. The altercation occurred over the issue of taking selfies with Shaw. Four days later, a court granted bail to Sapna Gill and three other accused who were charged with manhandling Shaw and attacking his car with a baseball bat.
Advocate Kaashif Ali Khan, representing Sapna Gill, filed an application claiming that the FIR against her was based on false and baseless accusations. Gill’s lawyer alleged that Prithvi Shaw had hit Gill with his bat. According to Kaashif, Shaw hit Gill with the bat and then went to the police the following day to file a case.
Several videos of the scuffle went viral on social media. The video shows Sapna Gill and Prithvi Shaw struggling with each other. Meanwhile, the star batter for Delhi Capitals, Prithvi Shaw is having a disappointing start to his IPL 2023 season, scoring only 19 runs in two matches.
