While many had predicted wrestler Vinesh Phogat to join politics after hanging her boots, that prediction might just come true soon. The Paris Olympian, who reached the final in her weight category and has become toast of the nation, will most likely contest the Haryana Assembly elections.
As per a report in IANS, some political parties are trying to convince her to be a part of the elections. It must be noted, that Vinesh Phogat had made it clear that she would not join politics. Still, it is not clear, as to which political outfit she would join.
k”Yes, why not? It’s likely that in Haryana assembly you see Vinesh Phogat vs Babita Phogat and Bajrang Punia vs Yogeshwar Dutt. Some politicial parties are trying to convince her,” sources close to Phogat family told IANS.
“Our fight has not ended and the fight will continue and I pray to god that the truth will prevail,” Vinesh had said on Saturday. What is interesting is, during the time of WFI vs wrestlers protest, Vinesh, Bajrang Punia, and Sakshi Malik had found support from different political parties.
