Pakistan falls flat against China in embarrassing penalty shootout at Asian Champions trophy

Pakistan failed to score in the penalty shootout against China in the ACT semifinals after a 1-1 draw, resulting in an easy (2-0) win for China.

The Pakistan hockey team failed to score a single goal in the penalty shootout during the semifinal clash against China in the Asian Champions Trophy. After a tough game, China and Pakistan were tied 1-1 at the end of 60 minutes, leading to the penalty shootout.

China took the first shots, and Pakistan went second. Pakistan changed their goalkeeper specifically for the shootout, bringing in Muneeb Ur Rehman, who made efforts to stop some goals—unlike the players, who couldn’t manage to score.

Awful performance from Pakistan

In the first shootout, China converted their shot, while Pakistan’s player missed the first attempt. He moved forward but fell short of scoring.

In the second attempt, Lin Changliang scored for China. Pakistan missed again, with Ahmad Nadeem attempting two turns but still failing to score.

Finally, Ajaz Ahmed aimed straight at the keeper’s chest, failing to score. Abdul Rehman also missed, handing China an easy victory.

Pakistan and China in ACT

Leading up to the semifinals, both Pakistan and China secured two wins in the pool stage. However, Pakistan drew two additional matches, while China lost their other three. Pakistan’s sole group stage defeat came against India. With China emerging victorious in the semifinal, they move on to the title match on Tuesday, while Pakistan will now compete for third place
