India vs South Korea hockey, Women’s Asian Champions Trophy: IND win 3-2

India vs South Korea hockey: After a lot of struggle and two goals by Deepika, India managed to secure a 3-2 win.

India vs South Korea hockey: In early exchanges, India started well and did not give a chance to the Korean defence, to breathe. The attacks were frequent, but the Koreans did not let the Indians score. That was only short-lived as Sangita Kumari opened the scoring in 3rd minute. The score remained the same after the 1st quarter.

Then in the second quarter, Deepika opened the scoring for India, to give the hosts 2-0. Soon in the third quarter, the Koreans struck twice to equalise 2-2. Later, in the dying moments of the match, Deepika, courtesy of a penalty stroke, helped India win 3-2.

India will take on South Korea in the second round match of Women’s Asian Champions Trophy on Tuesday. India got off to a winning start in a domination fashion as they thrashed Malaysia 4-0 in the tournament opener. On the other hand, South Korea finished with a 2-2 draw against Japan in their first match. The tournament is taking place in Rajgir, Bihar.
