“If I don’t perform well, coach will bench me” – Pradeep Narwal reveals ahead of PKL-11

In a recent interaction with InsideSport, Pradeep Narwal said, "If I don’t perform well, coach will bench me,” as he prepares for PKL Season 11.

The Pro Kabaddi League season 11 is not far away, the action will start in Hyderabad, where in the first match, Telugu Titans will be facing Bengaluru Bulls. This season will be special to see, as the star raider Pradeep Narwal is marking homecoming with the Bengaluru Bulls. The raider joined the legendary coach Randhir Singh’s team and has many expectations this year.

In a recent media conference, he answered questions from InsideSports.

Conversations with Coach Randhir

After two lacklustre years, Pradeep is set to make a strong comeback with the Bengaluru Bulls this season. Pradeep revealed that his discussions with coach Randhir focused on accountability and performance. “The coach made it clear that if I do not perform well, I would be dropped from the team. If I do my best, I will stay in.” He emphasised the coach’s commitment to player development, mentioning that Randhir conducts daily 10-minute sessions to address each player’s flaws.

Expectations from Teammate Ajinkya Pawar

Looking ahead, Pradeep expressed confidence in his teammate, Ajinkya Pawar. “He is a good player. Pawar performed well last season and is expected to elevate his game even further this year,” Pradeep said. “He has brought glory for the team as well as for himself,” he added.

He praised young raider Jai Bhagwan. “Along with Ajinkya, this year we have Jai Bhagwan in the team as well. These two won’t let the fans miss me this season,” he added.

Pradeep also answered questions from other journalists.

Focus on Gradual Progression

When asked about his discussions with coach Randhir regarding the team’s strategy, Pradeep said, Don’t think so much that we have to play the finals. I mean, if you do well, then good will happen.”

Aiming for 100 Super 10s

With just 15 Super 10s away from reaching a milestone of 100 Super 10s, Pradeep shared his determination. I had no idea about this. Now I know. I will complete 100 Super 10s this year,” he affirmed, showcasing his commitment to achieving this goal during the league’s 22 matches.

Strengthening Team Dynamics

As the captain, Pradeep discussed his strategy to enhance the team’s performance, especially with the addition of Surendra Gill. He mentioned, I will explain to him sitting down as well. I will explain and also outside. His mistake was that we have to meet in the next match; we practice. Meaning that I will explain that these mistakes were made. If it happens in the next match, I will tell him and gradually move forward.”
