Sankar Muthusamy started the contest with a lead as he challenged his opponent right from the beginning. He took a comfortable four-point lead with the scores at 8-4 and later entered the break with a 11-9 lead. Sankar continued to play his natural game challenging his opponent but under pressure Teeraratchakul committed few errors to help the Indian maintain his lead. Sankar’s lead swell to 19-13 and the Indian reached the game point with a brilliant cross-court smash. He soon closed out the game after Teeraratchakul hit a shot outside the backline.
In the second game, Teeraratchakul tried to up his game and gave a good fight at the start but the Indian continued to be at his best and entered the break with a 11-8 lead. From then on, Teeraratchakul couldn’t maintain his cool as he committed way too many errors under pressure. Sankar soon reached the match point at 20-15 and yet again Teeraratchakul hits wide as Sankar advanced to the final of the tournament.
