BWF World Junior Championships 2022 LIVE: India’s Sankar Muthusamy advanced to the semifinals of the World Junior Badminton Championships 2022 as he defeated China’s Hu Zhe An in the Men’s Singles quarterfinal on Friday. With the victory he has assured atleast a bronze medal and will become the 9th Indian to win a medal in the history of the Junior Championships. BWF Junior Mixed Team Championships: India defeat Malaysia to earn 13th place finish
India last won a medal in the 2018 edition in which Lakshya Sen clinched the Bronze medal. India have so far won one gold, three silver medals and five bronze medals in the tournament so far. All the medals have come in the singles.

India’s Boys Singles Draws
India’s Bharat Raghav, who is unseeded in the tournament will take on England’s Michael Pang in the first round of the tournament. If the Indian advances to the second round, he will face a big challenge from the top seed Alex Lanier.
India also has the unseeded Ayush Shetty who is in the first quarter of the draws. He will begin his campaign by facing Manvel Harutyunyan in the first round. If he reaches the third round of the tournament, he is likely to be up against eighth seeded Charles Fouyn from Belgium.
Meanwhile, fourth seeded Sankar Muthuswamy has received a bye to the second round. He will begin the campaign by facing the winner between Ziga Podgorsek and Remus Ng in the second round.
India’s Girls Singles Draws
Top seed Anupama Upadhyay finds herself in the first quarter of the draws. She has received a bye to the second round and will face the winner between Singapore’s Elas Lai and Iceland’s Hrafnhildur Ingvarsdottir in the second round. The other seeded players in this quarter are seventh seed Tasya Farahnailah from Indonesia and 16th seed Lucie Krulova.
Fifth seed Unnati Hooda too received a bye to the second round and she is set to begin her campaign by facing either Sri Lanka’s Ranithama Liyanage or Namie Tsukazan in the second round.
