Bengaluru Open Challenger 2023: Bengaluru Open ATP Challenger event is currently underway. The tournament began on 20th February 2023. Defending champions 

Men’s Singles – Chun-hsin Tseng (Chinese Taipei)

Men’s Doubles – Saketh Myneni/Ramkumar Ramanathan (India)

This year, it is set to return as an ATP Challenger 100 event for the first time since 2020.The main draw will consist of 32 players in singles and 16 in doubles with 24 making it to the qualifying draw.

Bengaluru Open Challenger 2023 Schedule 

  • First Round – 20th & 21st February
  • Second Round – 22nd & 23rd February
  • Quarterfinals – 24th February
  • Semifinals – 25th February
  • Finals – 26th February

Bengaluru Open Challenger 2023 prize money 

All the players will fight for the prize money of USD 130,000, which is bigger than the last year’s edition.

Men’s Singles Draws 

Tseng Chun-Hsin leads first quarter

Tseng Chun-Hsin, the 21-year-old World No 132 from Taipei, is the top seed. He has advanced to the second round and awaits the winner between compatriot Hsu Yu Hsioh and Leo Borg. Leo Borg is one of the highlights of the tournament as he is the son of the legendary Bjorn Borg. He has been handed a wildcard entry into the main draw of the Bengaluru Open.

India’s Prajnesh Gunneswaran is also part of this quarter. He has made it to the main draw after playing in the qualifiers. Gunneswaran will face Hamad Mededovic in the first round.  Czech’s Dalibor Svrcina is the seventh seed. He will be facing USA’s Moreno de Alboran in the first round.

Sumit Nagal and Prajwal Dev in second quarter

The second quarter of the draws will be keenly watched by the Indians as it has Sumit Nagal and Prajwal Dev. Both the players have received a wildcard entry to the tournament. While, Nagal will face Vietnam’s Ly Hoang Nam, Prajwal Dev will be up against Chinese Taipei’s Jason Jung in the first round.

Austria’s Sebastian Ofner is the highest seeded player in this quarter. The fourth seed will face Chennai Open Challenger winner Max Purcell in the first round. Italy’s Luca Nardi is the fifth seed and he has made his way into the second round.

Ryan Peniston headlines third quarter 

Briton Ryan Peniston is the third seeded player. He will be facing Croatia’s Neno Serdarusic in the opening round. Francesco Maestrelli was the other player in the quarter. However the fifth seed has suffered a straight set defeat against Australian Marc Polmans.

Polmans will now face the winner between Lorenzo Guistino and James McCabe. France’s Harold Mayot and Australia’s Dane Sweeney are the other player in this quarter.

James Duckworth leads final quarter 

Australia’s Jmes Guckworth leads the final quarter. He will begin his cmpaign against unseeded Rio Noguchi in the first round. Dimitar Kuzmenov is the only other seeded player in this quarter. Kuzmanov will be facing the unseeded Nikotar Milojevic in the first round.

Austria’s Maximilian Neuchrist and Russia’s Alibech Kachmazov have set p clash against each other in the first round. France’s Giovanni Perricard and Arthur Cazaux will also be playing against each other in the first round.
