In the match between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators Babar and Roy, both put on tremendous performances with the bat. Babar’s dip in scoring rate around the century mark is the time when Simon Doull, who was doing commentary, observed the shift in momentum and didn’t hesitate to criticise Babar.

“Rather than putting the team first… the last little while, that’s all that been happening. Rather than looking for boundaries, still so much firepower to come. Hundreds are brilliant, stats are great, but it has to be team first,” said Doull.

The Pakistan Super League match between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators turned out to be a spectacular game. With over 400 runs being scored, including both innings. While batting first Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam struck 65-balls 115 runs and inspired his team to 240/2 in 20 overs.

Quetta Gladiators comfortably chased down the target with 10 balls to spare. Jason Roy did the unthinkable, scoring 145 runs off just 63 deliveries. His inning includes wonderful twenty boundaries and five maximums. For this splendid performance, Roy was awarded player of the match.

Simon Doull’s main reason to criticise Babar Azam was his strike rate when he reached the century mark. Babar scored 115 runs on 65 balls at a strike rate of 176.92. While his teammate Saim Ayub struck 74 off just 34 balls with a strike of 217.65. On the other hand, Jason Roy, who led his team to victory smashed 145 off just 63 balls at a strike rate of 230.16.
