The skipper’s knock came at the correct time when Peshawar Zalmi met the Gladiators as the latter faced a do-or-die encounter. Babar Azam led from the front to guide his team to mount a big score on the board. He managed to score 115 runs off just 65 deliveries. His fiery innings consisted of 15 fours and 3 over boundaries. He was, however, unfortunately, dismissed by a runout.

After Azam’s magic knock, fellow batter Saim Ayub spoke about his skipper. He said, “I’m enjoying playing with Babar, he’s a class player, everyone loves to watch him play, I feel lucky to have watched him from the other end. I have seen glimpses of high standards of batting in internationals and other leagues, I’m looking to give my best and improve, have a lot of support from my mates. It does come naturally to me.”
