Sindhu, who won the bronze medal at the 2014 Asia Championship, confirmed yet another bronze medal in the event by making it to the semis. Sindhu will now meet either first seed Akane Yamugachi in the semifinals.
Sindhu started off the first set by taking a massive 11-2 lead. In just 13 minutes, she won the furst set, without much fuss.

However, in the second set, Bingjiao looked a completely a different player, the two shuttlers were neck-on-neck with the scorecard showing 11-10. From there on, Sindhu made quite a few unforced errors as the Chinese star ran away with the second game and won the set to take the match into the decider.
In the deciding set, Sindhu brought her A-game forward and led the contest for major portion. Bingjiao however came back strongly and saved two match points in the third game to stay in contention for a victory. But an unforced error from her made sure Sindhu get over the line by winning the set 21-19.
3rd set
21-19 to Sindhu, Sindhu wins the set and the match to book a spot in the semifinals.
16-5 to Sindhu, Bingjiao fights back to reduced the deficit to just a solitary point.
