xQc responds to Ludwig’s negative take on the new Twitch Meta: In the past few weeks, Twitch has seen a new meta rise up, watching popular TV shows online with viewers. The most notable figures who are trying this out are xQc who watches Masterchef and Disguised Toast who watches Naruto. While Toast deletes his videos after he watches Naruto, xQc is more unabashed about this.

Ludwig talks about how watching TV shows and movies on Twitch is dangerous for streamers

Even though he has left the Twitch platform for YouTube, Ludwig still watches his friends on Twitch and gives opinions about their videos. In his latest YouTube video titled React Streamers have gone too far, Ludwig addressed this new Twitch meta of watching TV shows and movies online. He told that this can develop into a serious issue as it poses a risk to the Twitch channels of the streamers/content creators.

Ludwig claims that streamers can get hit with multiple DMCA claims from copyright holders which can become detrimental to their channels. This can be “catastrophic” for small or new streamers on Twitch who may start following the new meta to gain viewers and get slapped with DMCA notices.

xQc responds to Ludwig’s point of view on this issue

xQc on the other hand defends this new Twitch meta, which he is a major part of. He reacted to Ludwig’s video on this and exclaimed that Ludwig was just “malding” as he had “jumped cars that ran out of gas really f**king fast.” This is points to the incident where Ludwig was hit with copyright claims from YouTube within days after moving to the new platform from Twitch. Thus, according to xQc, Ludwig is just salty that he cannot do so himself on his own platform.

xQc tells that things can unexpectedly blow up in a large platform like Twitch, and it will be wrong to curtail the flow. While DMCA claims may get issued, xQc tells that that should be considered as a disaster for the streaming industry and not the act of watching TV shows and movies.

xQc also stressed that they are watching old shows or episodes. According to him, anyone who watches brand new shows and movies LIVE will be a crazy person as it will surely be a huge risk. xQc also informed that he has reached out to popular content distributors like Crunchyroll to collaborate with him for this.
