Shivam Dube has gone from strength to strength in IPL 2024. The CSK batter has been in blazing form in the ongoing tournament, and making the job of Indian selectors tougher ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024. Former cricketer Aakash Chopra firmly believes that Shivam Dube ought to be in the starting XI for India in the T20 World Cup. Chopra stated that benching Dube would be a serious injustice.
Dube in dream run
Shivam Dube has amassed 350 runs for CSK at an average of 58.33 and a strike-rate of 172.41 in 9 games thus far. The CSK batter is now Chennai’s second-highest run scorer behind captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, having hit three fifty this season.

Shivam Dube should be in playing XI: Chopra
“The way the kid is playing, he is absolutely scintillating and sensational. I am saying that you shouldn’t only send him but play him in the XI. The discussion is not about his T20 selection. In my opinion, you are compelled to play him in the XI,” he said.
“No captain, team management or selector can ignore him. Because if you ignore him, there is no player in India at the moment who hits better than him. If you make him sit on the bench, you will do a grave injustice,” Chopra added.
