Ravi Bishnoi has been included in the Zimbabwe T20Is, after Varun Chakravarthy was ruled out of the series.

India leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi would have had a few sleepless nights, after his horrendous performance in the India vs England 2nd T20I. The former World No.1 ended up bowling a few back foot no balls, gave away 29 runs in his 16th over, that only ensured the hosts won the game with much ease. But perhaps bad days could be behind him, as he is all set to work alongside Sunil Joshi, at the BCCI CoE, as per a report in RevSportz.

Ravi Bishnoi to work with Sunil Joshi

Just to serve a reminder, India had a great chance to win that match, as England needed 49 to win in four overs, with five wickets in hand. But Ravi Bishnoi erred. and quite badly. Three back foot no balls practically ended the match, then and there. As a result, he was not picked in the XI, for rest of the series. Cut to the Zimbabwe T20Is, he now has been selected as a replacement for Varun Chakravarthy, and it only becomes imperative, he irons out the glitches.

Comes in as replacement for ZIM series

What makes matters worse for him is, he has bowled 10 back foot no balls since 2022. And which is why, Joshi comes into the picture now. The report further states that Bishnoi was in fact, directly send to the CoE from England. In what could be a big positive for Bishnoi, Joshi might eventually travel to Zimbabwe, given VVS Laxman will be in charge of the team for the tour, who also happens to be CoE head.

As far as Bishnoi’s overall record is concerned, he has played 46 T20Is for India, picking up 64 wickets at an average of 20.45. He had an average IPL 2026, where he picked up 11 wickets in 9 matches for RR, at an average of 23.36. The biggest issue was his economy rate of 9.88.

India squad for Zimbabwe: Shreyas Iyer (Captain), Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma (Vice-Captain), Ishan Kishan (WK), Shivam Dube, Suryansh Shedge, Rinku Singh, Harsh Dubey, Ravi Bishnoi, Prince Yadav, Yash Thakur, Ashok Sharma, Mayank Yadav, Prabhsimran Singh (WK).
