The BCCI on Monday made a change in India’s ODI squad for the England series; all-rounder Shivam Dube comes in for the injured Nitish Kumar Reddy. The 23-year-old has still not recovered from his quadriceps injury, sustained during the 3rd Afghanistan ODI, and it is still not clear, as to when he will be back in action.
Shivam Dube in for IND-ENG ODIs
Reddy has already missed a few matches — Ireland and England T20Is, and will now miss the entire ODI series as well. Meanwhile, there is no other change in India squad for England ODIs. The series is slated to begin on July 14, and will end on July 19, with three matches to be played.
Nitish Kumar Reddy had a golden opportunity to cement his place in the ODI side, in the absence of Hardik Pandya, who too is currently injured, and completing his rehab at the CoE, in Bengaluru. Nonetheless, it was clear that the Andhra all-rounder would miss the upcoming series, as per a report in the Times of India. In fact, he was not even included in the India-Zimbabwe T20I squad, which is supposed to start on July 23, only signaling, the youngster needs proper rest from cricket, to recover.
