The wait finally ended on Saturday as Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made his much-awaited Team India debut in the ENG vs IND 2nd T20I at Old Trafford, becoming the youngest player to do so for IND. Team India continue their poor tour of the UK, as they succumbed to yet another defeat on Saturday. After posting 190 on the board, hosts England achieved the target with 4 wickets in hand, a an over to spare. The hero of the day was Jacob Bethell, who scored 46-ball 76. Not a dream debut for Sooryavanshi
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi officially become the youngest Indian debutant ever on Saturday. He announced himself with a hammering six off the first-ever ball he faced against Archer in a competitive match. After hitting two sixes, one against Archer and the other against Tongue, Sooryavanshi made 14 runs off 10 balls. he got out to off-spinner Will Jacks in the fifth over. He tried to step out and hit a six over the bowler’s head but was undone by the flight, and Jos Buttler stumped him. Read more here.

15 years ago, England women’s cricket team created history at the Lord’s by becoming the first side to win the ianugural edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Since then, they have made it to the final on three occasions, the last time being 2018, but haven’t managed to add another trophy to their cabinet. Axar Patel creates history
Axar Patel achieved a major landmark in his international career. The former vice-captain of the side has completed 100 T20 international wickets, becoming the first-ever Indian spinner to do so. Axar was stranded on 99 wickets for a couple of games, including the previous one where the match was abandoned before Inida’s bowling innings. He now has completed the much-awaited feat to become only the 19th overall spinner to take 100 T20I wickets and the 12th among full-member nations. Read more here.

Abrar Ahmed in country vs club debate
Abrar Ahmed finds himself in a difficult situation, and will have to choose whether he will opt to play for his country in the WI vs PAK Tests or if he will play for Sunrisers Leeds in The Hundred. The spinner was bought by Rs 2.30 crore in the The Hundred 2026 auction, a move that sparked a backlash against the Kavya Maran-led franchise. Pakistan blame T20s for decline
There seems to be no sync between the PCB officials and the Director of High Performance, Aaqib Javed — who has slammed the growing influence of the T20 franchise leagues for destroying Pakistan’s cricket overall. Javed made a few comments as to how Pakistan cricket has been on a decline due to the same, which is in complete contrast to the board’s actions — who gave an NOC to 14 players to appear in the Global Super League and the CPL.
