SRH will be now be required to win all the remaining league stage games in order to stay on the safe side and make it to the IPL 2026 playoffs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) had the golden opportunity to go to the top of the points table had they defeated Gujarat Titans on Tuesday, which would have helped them take one step closer to the IPL 2026 playoffs. Pat Cummins and co. suffered their 5th loss of the season as GT handed them a 82-run thrashing at the Narendra Modi Stadium. As a result of the loss, SRH will be now be required to win all the remaining league stage games in order to stay on the safe side and ensure they stay in the top four at the end of the group stage without any hiccups.

Can SRH make it to IPL 2026 playoffs?

Sunrisers Hyderabad are currently 3rd on the IPL 2026 points table with 14 points to their name (12 matches, 7 wins and 5 losses). Pat Cummins and co. are left with two more matches in the league stage – against CSK and RCB. If SRH win both the games, then they finish with 18 points to their name, which means they will be through to the IPL 2026 playoffs. However, losing even a single game would not just jeopardize team’s chances of staying in the top four but will also put them on the brink of not making to the IPL 2026 playoffs as there are teams like CSK and RR who are just 2 points behind SRH and could make it to the top four, given that both teams have 3 games left.
