It seems everything has been finalised for yet another series for Team India. The BCCI has added a tour to Ireland, in India’s already packed calendar for 2026, before they head to England. The two teams will play three T20Is in the last week of June, before they head to the neighbours, for 5 T20Is and 3 ODIs.
India vs Ireland in June
Though the formal announcement is yet to come from the BCCI, but it only looks like a done deal. This could be Suryakumar Yadav’s team’s first series after successfully defending their T20 World Cup title. Meanwhile, there is still no clarity over the dates and the venues.
A report in Cricbuzz suggests, that the players were informed about the same during the BCCI NAMAN awards, in New Delhi recently. After the IPL 2026 concludes on May 31, the Indian team will play a Test against Afghanistan, post which this series will be played. Following that, a three-match ODI series awaits Shubman Gill & boys.
Packed calendar for Team India
There is literally no break for the cricket fans, as in July-August, the Indian team is Sri Lanka-bound for a Test series, and a three-match T20I series is likely to be added. There could be a Zimbabwe series which could be squeezed in between. Nothing is finalised, but it is to be played out in September as well.
Then West Indies home series follows, where they play three ODIs and five T20Is. In October, also the Asian Games is scheduled, where Team India will be expected to defend their title. Also is October, the Indian team will travel to New Zealand for an all-format series.
After the NZ series, there would be a white-ball series vs SL, and then early next year would be the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2027, before the IPL 2027.
