India and Sri Lanka are jointly hosting the T20 World Cup 2026, and that could logistically be a nightmare. But the ICC seems to be dealing with that quite well, for now. On Tuesday, the tickets for the semis and final went on sale, which are to be hosted by Kolkata, and Mumbai, and Ahmedabad.
Ticket refund in case of venue shift
But in case, Pakistan reaches semis/final, the venue/s will have to shifted to Colombo. But in that case, do the fans lose all their money? No. The ICC has assured the fans, that in that situation, full refunds for the ticket bookings will be provided. Similarly, if Sri Lanka reached the semis/ final, and play any other team that India, the venue will be changed to Colombo.
Meanwhile, for now, Pakistan’s chances of reaching the semis, look rather slim. After a washout in their first Super 8 match, they lost the second encounter vs England. Now, they must win their last match against Sri Lanka, and hope other results go in their favour, and then the NRR will come into play as well.
IND need to win all matches
As for India, they need to win both their remaining matches, and that should be enough. But they must also look to better their NRR a bit. There a few issues with the Indian batting line-up which must be addressed at the earliest. Just too many left-handers in the side, seem to be struggling against the off-spinners.
India face Zimbabwe in a must-win contest in Chennai, on Feb 26 at 7 PM IST. The wicket there could just be conducive to spin bowling once again, which might propel the management to rethink their strategy.
