During Canada’s group stage match against New Zealand on February 17, Canada’s opening batsman Yuvraj Samra entered the record book, becoming the youngest player to score a century in the T20 World Cup history.
Yuvraj Singh Samra reached the three-figure mark off 58 deliveries with a boundary off Kyle Jamieson’s over at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. With this, he also became the first player from Associate Nation to score a hundred in T20 World Cup history. The 19-year-old broke the record of Pakistan cricketer Ahmed Shehzad, who achieved the feat in the 2014 edition of the tournament in a match against Bangladesh in Mirpur.
