February 11 saw a lot of injury and health-related news. Three Indian players and one Australian were the talking points. But at least half of them are fine. But apart from the T20 World Cup, the IPL was also in focus. We got a coaching update, and the home base information for two teams emerged.

Update on Abhishek Sharma & Bumrah
After India reached Delhi for the Namibia match, Abhishek Sharma, who had been unwell in the USA match, had to be hospitalised. Luckily for India, he’s been discharged on the eve of the game. Tilak Varma, who came in the presser, also confirmed that Jasprit Bumrah, who had viral fever, has recovered and is available for selection.

Mumbai too far for RCB
The Mumbai Indians have declined RCB’s request to host their home matches for the IPL 2026 season at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. RCB needed an NoC from MI, who have the power to decide whether another IPL franchise can play in Mumbai. MI wants RCB to exhaust all other options before coming to Mumbai.

Bumrah hits Kishan
Moments after Tilak confirmed that Abhishek and Bumrah might be available to play against Namibia, Ishan Kishan suffered a blow to his toe. The Indian wicketkeeper was facing Bumrah in the nets, who bowled a searing yorker, which left Kishan in pain. The 27-year-old was tended by the physio.

RR to stay in Jaipur
BCCI has asked Rajasthan Royals to stick with Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur as their home ground for the IPL 2026 season. Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) had written to BCCI after RR started looking for other venues. RR has accepted BCCI’s request, on the condition that the ground should be ready 45 days before the tournament begins.

Australia captain injured
An hour before facing Ireland, Australia captain Mitchell Marsh sustained a serious blow to his groin area, which led to internal testicular bleeding. Marsh was ruled out of the match, with Travis Head taking over as skipper. Steve Smith has also been added to the squad as cover for him.

New DC coach
Delhi Capitals have added Ian Bell to their coaching staff ahead of the IPL 2026 season. The former England batter will be DC’s assistant coach. The role was helmed by Matthew Mott last season. It isn’t certain whether Mott will continue to be part of DC’s staff. Bell is the assistant coach of Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred.
