MS Dhoni, who has a vast experience of leading the team across World Cups, has predicted dew to be the biggest threat to India

2007 T20 World Cup-winning captain MS Dhoni has fired a warning to defending champions India ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026. India are scheduled to play all their league stage matches at home, barring the game against Pakistan which will be played in Colombo. The former Indian captain, who has a vast experience of leading the team across World Cups, has predicted dew to be the biggest threat to India in their title defence.

What is India’s biggest threat in T20 WC?

Speaking at an event, Dhoni flagged the dew factor as the biggest threat to India, admitting that he hated it. The former Indian captain revealed that he was scared of dew when he was playing for the country. MSD said that the dew factor is the reason why the outcome of the toss becomes important.

What worries me? Again, I hate dew. Dew changes a lot of things. So, even when I was playing, something that really scared me was dew. Where the toss becomes crucial and all of that. If we are playing 10 matches with some of the best teams, we will come out as winners more often than not, if the conditions remain neutral,” Dhoni said.

Dhoni, however, has backed India to retain the T20 World Cup title and has dubbed the side as the most dangerous team in the tounament. He noted that each and every player in the side had the ability to perform under pressure and had displayed their abilities to do so in the past.

It’s one of the most dangerous teams. hey have the experience. Especially when it comes to this format, the experience is vast. They have played under pressure. Whoever is playing whatever roles they are playing in the team, they have been in that situation for a considerable period of time,” Dhoni added.
