PCB is maintaining suspense over their participation in the T20 World Cup, after Bangladesh pulled out.

PCB seems to be playing the waiting game, as far as their decision on their participation in the T20 World Cup 2026 is concerned. The board is undecided, whether it wants to play, or wants to skip the IND vs PAK match, after Bangladesh’s withdrawal from the tournament.

PCB cancels jersey kit launch

Now, in a latest development, the PCB cancelled the unveiling of Pakistan jersey for the T20 World Cup on Saturday, which was supposed to take place after the toss of the 2nd T20I between PAK and AUS. As per a report in ‘ASports.tv’ , the decision to postpone the kit launch happened due to “unavoidable circumstances”. That in turn could be directly linked to the fact that they have still not got a clearance from the govt. of Pakistan.

The decision will be made clear only on a Monday. On the flipside, the squad is scheduled to depart for Colombo on Feb 2. “The PCB has already made travel arrangements for the World Cup squad to leave early morning on February 2 for Colombo,” a source said said.

The source further added, that there isn’t more ground for not playing since all of Pakistan’s matches will anyways be held in Sri Lanka only. “Keep in mind Pakistan’s entire World Cup schedule is in Sri Lanka, including the final if they qualify. So on what grounds can they boycott the tournament or the match against India?” he asked.
