T20 World Cup: After Bangladesh's withdrawal from the tournament, Scotland has been introduced as the new team.

The world is divided as far as the entire Bangladesh withdrawal is concerned, from the upcoming T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka. The BCB wanted their team to play in Sri Lanka, and when their demands were not met by the ICC, they pulled out of the tournament. Now former India cricketer Suresh Raina has expressed his views on the entire situation.

Suresh Raina blasts BCB

He put the entire blame on BCB, and also warned the PCB, over their threats of possible boycott of the IND vs PAK match. “I think whatever happened with Bangladesh, we provided the security, everything was there. I think it’s their fault,” Raina told NDTV on the sidelines of World Legends Pro T20 League.

“If they would have come to India, it would have been different because the Bangladesh team is very, very strong. Their spinners know the conditions really well. I think they’re going to lose out so much,” Raina added. “As the ICC chairman said, they’re going to take strict action against those who are not coming to India,” he added.

T20 World Cup miss could be costly

Meanwhile, as per various reports, Pakistan could skip the India match, if they end up winning their other two fixtures. Though there has been no formal announcement of the same, but perhaps there are considerations. Recently, ex-PAK skipper Rashid Latif said, “If the government says we will not play against India, the ICC will have to accept it. If they don’t, that is where the real confrontation begins.”

India and Pakistan are supposed to play their match on Feb 15 in Sri Lanka. And in India’s group the other two teams will be Namibia and USA. It is interesting to note, that USA had beaten Pakistan in the last edition of the T20 World Cup.
