Gautam Gambhir to be sacked?
Speaking exclusively to Insidesport, Manoj Tiwary mentioned that the BCCI will remove Gautam Gambhir as head coach if India fail to defend their T20 World Cup crown. Tiwary feels that VVS Laxman is the perfect candidate to succeed Gambhir. While pondering over why Laxman should replace Gambhir, Tiwary mentioned that the former Test middle-order great is a level-headed guy and has done well as NCA head as well. Read more here.

Sanju Samson gets management backing
Sanju Samson has been in some woeful form in the T20Is, and his issues have been further highlighted before the T20 World Cup in Feb, during the IND vs NZ series, where he is yet to get a substantial score. Maxwell is now PSL bound
Glenn Maxwell is all set to feature in the next edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) after he pulled out of the IPL 2026 auction last year. The all-rounder decided to not enter the auction despite being a part of the cash-rich league foe years after he was released by Punjab Kings. Now, Maxwell will play for Peshawar Zalmi for a price of PKR 4.5 crore (INR 1.47 crore). Read more here.

BCCI Central contracts
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia has explained why central contracts are not rolled out for domestic stars even though they are qualified for it. The remarks come just days before the board the is set to issue fresh contracts for players who are a part of the international squads across formats. Pakistan to be replaced in T20 World Cup?
The drama between ICC, Bangladesh Cricket and Pakistan Cricket just isn’t stopping. What began as Bangladesh being pushed out of the T20 World Cup 2026 could yet end with the ICC calling them back not because the ICC changed its stance, but because Pakistan might walk away. That possibility has now emerged after Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi delayed a final decision on participation even after meeting Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday. Yashasvi Jaiswal update
Yashasvi Jaiswal is all set to return to action by February 6, right in time for the Ranji Trophy quarterfinal clash. The southpaw, who is a mainstay in the Indian Test team, was last seen in action on January 6 against Himachal Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025/26.
