The International Cricket Council (ICC) is expected to announce the T20 World Cup 2026 warm-up schedule on Monday, January 26.
Due to Bangladesh’s non-commitment to the event, citing security concerns about traveling to India, the ICC couldn’t announce the fixtures for customary pre-tournament warm-up matches. However, with Scotland replacing Bangladesh in Group C, the ICC will finally unveil the fixtures.
India to play 1 warm-up match
According to Cricbuzz, the India cricket team will play one warm-up match before commencing their T20 World Cup 2026 campaign against the USA on February 7 at the Wankhede Stadium.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket South Africa (CSA) have agreed to play a match against each other and are waiting for the ICC to confirm the warm-up fixtures.
After the ongoing 5-match India vs New Zealand T20I series ends on February 1 in Thiruvananthapuram, the Men in Blue will report to Mumbai on February 3 and play South Africa on February 4 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
Like India, South Africa is playing a 3-match T20I series against the West Indies, which will end on January 31 in Johannesburg.
