Mumbai Indians announce Kieron Pollard as head coach of The Hundred franchise

Kieron Pollard has been serving as Mumbai Indians' batting coach in the Indian Premier League since 2022.

Mumbai Indians (MI) London have announced Kieron Pollard as their head coach for the Hundred 2026 season. Pollard has had a long-time partnership with MI. He played for them in the Indian Premier League (IPL) from 2009 to 2022 before becoming their batting coach.

Apart from the IPL, Pollard has played for the franchise. in Major League Cricket (MI New York), ILT20 (MI Emirates), SA20 (MI Cape Town), and CLT20 (MI). Pollard has been playing a vital role in the opening of an MI cricket academy in Trinidad and Tobago.

MI name Pollard as head coach

Pollard has played in the Hundred before, featuring for the London Spirit in 2022 and for Southern Brave in 2024. The West Indian T20 great returns to the league but in a different role.

“I am honoured to take on the role of Head Coach with MI London. Having played in The Hundred and for Surrey, I’ve seen first-hand the strong alignment between Surrey’s cricketing culture and the Mumbai Indians’ winning ethos. This is an exciting opportunity to build a strong team, create a high-performance culture, and work towards sustained success in the seasons ahead,” Pollard said in a statement released by M London.

WPL head coach on board

MI women’s head coach in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), Lisa Keightley, has been named the head coach of MI London Women. In the last Hundred season, she had guided Northern Superchargers (now Sunrisers Leeds) to their maiden trophy.

“I’m delighted to join MI London women’s team for the 2026 season. Having witnessed the team’s past success and now stepping into this role, I’m looking forward to the journey and to a new challenge after winning The Hundred last season. The Kia Oval is a brilliant place to play and gives me a unique chance to combine Surrey’s rich cricketing heritage with the global winning culture of the MI family. My focus at MI London will be to bring the trophy home and build a high-performance environment where players can thrive, play fearless cricket, and continue to win,” said Keightley.
