India cricket team star Hardik Pandya announced his arrival at Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025/26 in style as he hammered a 68-ball century in the game against Vidarbha on Saturday. The all-rounder, who was last seen in action in the IND vs SA T20I series, was on a break after the five-match series and is playing his first domestic 50-over game of the 2025/26 edition. From 50 off 44 deliveries, Pandya took just 24 more deliveries to breach the triple figure mark and he did so in style!

Pandya races from 50 to 100 in just 24 deliveries

Prior to his hundred, Hardik had struck five fours and three sixes, as he took 44 deliveries to reach his half-century. It was then when he decided to step on the gas and take the bowlers to the cleaners. In the 39th over, Pandya unleashed himself on the Vidarbha bowler as he struck five consecutive sixes and a boundary to reach his century in no time.

His 68-ball century was studded with 8 sixes and six fours, at a strike rate of 143.06. The ton against Vidarbha also marked Panda’s first in his List A career. So far, Hardik has featured in 119 List A games and has over 2350 runs to his name, including 13 fifties. It is pertinent to point out that Pandya stood apart with his fiery knock as the rest of the Baroda batters struggled to get going. Eventually, he finished at 133 runs off 92 deliveries.

Pandya will next be seen in action in the five-match T20I series against New Zealand which will begin later this month. The series, along with the ongoing VHT, will serve as preparation ground for the T20 World Cup 2026 which will start in February. With his hundred at number 7, Hardik Pandya has announced that he his very well ready to bring the fireworks at the biggest stage of them all.
