Vaibhav Suryavanshi has scored 18 sixes in two matches for India A, the most for any batter in the Asia Cup Rising Star.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has gained a huge fan following since breaking out in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Among the admirers are two Omani players as well. Later today, India A will face Oman in the 2025 Asia Cup Rising Star, and hours before the match, his opponents showered praise on him.

Aryan Bisht, a batter of Indian origin, can’t fathom how Suryavanshi hits those towering sixes at just 14. Funnily, Aryan isn’t much older. At 20, he could be considered a young cricketer himself, but compared to Suryavanshi, he’s ancient.

Oman players raring to see Vaibhav Suryavanshi in action

Aryan wishes to talk with the Indian prodigy and ask him how he smashes those maximums with ease. Of course, Oman would be wary of Suryavanshi, since he hit 15 sixes against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and ended up scoring 144 from 42.

“We’ve only seen Vaibhav Suryavanshi on TV, and now we’ll be playing against him. When you’re 14 and you’re able to hit the ball that far, that’s just exceptional talent. It’s something not everybody can do — definitely something I couldn’t do at that age. 14 saal ke ho, kaise maarte ho ye chakke? [At 14, how are you able to smash those sixes?] He’s really talented and very good, so I’m really looking forward to playing against him,” Aryan told Times of India.

Samay Shrivastava, who played domestic cricket in India, moved to Oman much later in life. At 34, he’s played 32 international matches. But age hasn’t stopped him from being a student of the game. Samay wishes to ask Suryavanshi what his mindset is when he comes out to bat.

“It’s a great opportunity to meet him. I just want to know his mindset about cricket. He’s only 14 and he’s already doing so well for his cricket and for India. I definitely want to meet him—the way he hits those big sixes is extraordinary. I really want to meet him and talk to him,” Samay said.
