India cricket team spinner Ravi Bishnoi is determined to find his way back into the national side after falling out of the favour of selectors. The LSG spinner last featured in an international game way back in the series against England earlier this year. Bishnoi, who lost out on his spot to Varun Chakravarthy in India’s T20I XI, was snubbed from the squad for the series against Australia as well.

Out-of-favour Bishnoi wants to play T20 World Cup 2026

As per The Telegraph, Bishnoi stated that he was eyeing for an opportunity to represent India at the T20 World Cup 2026, claiming that there was nothing better than playing for the country at the big stage. The LSG spinner will be seen in action next in the Ranji Trophy game between Gujarat and Bengal at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

I’m just looking at grabbing whatever opportunities that are there ahead of me. The (T20) World Cup will happen in India this time, so it’s a good opportunity to set things up for myself and be in the reckoning… Can’t be anything better if I can get into the team and then we go on to win the Cup,” Bishnoi said.

Speaking about the cut-throat competition between spinners for a spot in India’s T20I XI, Bishnoi said that it was an indication of Indian cricket moving in the right direction. The LSG spinner had a rather sub-par IPL 2025 season as well, where he finished with 9 wickets from 11 games and was shadowed by his teammate Digvesh Rathi. He revealed that his goal too, like all other players, was to play Test cricket for India, adding that he would never miss an opportunity to feature in a Ranji Trophy game.

It’s a good, healthy competition among the spinners, which also shows Indian cricket is moving in the right direction. It’s always good to compete with these guys, and even if they are doing well for India, I’ll still try to make my place in the team,” Bishnoi added.
