The fifth day of IND vs ENG 5th Test at the Kennington Oval in London saw concurrency of 13 million – the highest-ever for a Test match on digital. The final day of play was a treat for fans as India picked up 4 wickets to pick up a famous win to level the series 2-2. The entire series clocked 65 billion minutes of watch time.
India cricket team started off the series on a losing note as they were handed a 5-wicket defeat at Headingley, Leeds. While the Indian batters fared well in the game and Bumrah grabbed a five-wicket haul, it was their lapses in the field that ultimately cost them the contest. Shubman Gill and co. then bounced back in stellar fashion in the 2nd Test, clinching a historic win at Edgbaston, Birmingham to level the series 1-1.
The action then moved to Lord’s where England defeated India by 22 runs, as the Indian batters failed to chase down 192 runs in the 4th innings. With the series at stake, India played a hard fought draw in the 4th Test at Old Trafford, Manchester. The end of the game saw a row break out between the England players and the duo of Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja as they declined England’s offer to draw the match to go on to score their well-deserved centuries.
India then ended the series on a high-note by registering their narrowest Test win by defeating England by 6 runs in the IND vs ENG 5th Test at The Oval.
