IND vs ENG: It was a series where more-or-less every player performed in Team India's success.

Even though it was a 2-2 drawn IND vs ENG series, it is nothing short of a win for Gautam Gambhir’s Team India, who many had not given a chance, to perform this well. In the absence of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and R Ashwin, there was a general fear, that the team would succumb under pressure, but the skipper Shubman Gill and the other players responded well.

IND vs ENG Series Ends in 2-2 Draw

Now, after spending nearly two months in England, Gambhir is back in India, where he will enjoy a little break and then start preparations for the Asia Cup in UAE, starting in September. Upon arrival too, the coach was all praise with the way every player responded in pressure situations.

In fact, Gambhir refrained from complimenting just Mohammed Siraj, or Gill for team’s heroics. “I think he’s (Siraj) been brilliant. In fact, not only he, but the entire team has performed brilliantly. It is very difficult for me to mention one name, but these guys have, be it Shubman, be it Siraj, be it everyone… I think the boys have been brilliant throughout the last two months,” he told ANI.

Asked about Gill, Gambhir just added that the former will keep serving the Indian cricket well for years. “I think he’s done a fabulous job. That’s all I can say, and he’ll keep doing good for Indian cricket.” Now the Asia Cup begins on September 9, and India play their first encounter against the UAE on the 10th.

The IND vs PAK clash will happen on Sept 14, and there can be three matches between both the sides, provided they both reach the final.
