Shubman Gill suffered a brainfade and was dismissed for just 12 in the IND vs ENG 4th Test in Manchester off Ben Stokes

Shubham Gill had a morning to forget in the IND vs ENG 4th Test at Manchester. With the series on the line, Gill lost his 4th toss in a row to have India batting first at Old Trafford. And when he walked out to bat, Gill was sent back cheaply by opposition captain Ben Stokes on the stroke of Tea.

Shubman Gill falls early at Old Trafford after brainfade

Shubman Gill walked into bat at the fall of the well set Yashasvi Jaiswal in the second session. The Indian captain was welcomed by a vociferous home crowd at Old Trafford, Manchester. Gill had taken the fight to England at Lord’s with words, while also accussed them of not playing in the spirit of the game.

Gill’s war of words however did not translate into runs with the bat. While the Indian captain started the series with a bang, his returns have since tapered off. On Wednesday, the 25-year-old had a ‘brainfade’ getting trapped in front to Ben Stokes. Gill left alone an inswinger and was given out LBW. He did review, but it did not save him. He was dismissed for just 12, much to the pleasure of the Manchester crowd.

The Barmy Army, England’s fan group even hit back at Shubman following his dismissal. Gill had complained against England’s time wasting tactics in Lord’s. The England fans hit back saying the Indian captain took his advice too seriously with a low score.
