The World Test Championship (WTC) for 2025-27 cycle is still in its nascent stage, but there is a lot of shuffling that is happening. The WTC began with a high-profile India tour of England, which turned out to be a fascinating series, ending in a draw at 2-2.
Then, India recorded their first of the home season, thrashing the West Indies quite comfortably with an innings and 140 runs. They followed it up with a Test series clean sweep with a triumph in Delhi. However, the Gautam Gambhir-coached side got a reality check after getting a 2-0 whitewash after 25 years against South Africa. Meanwhile, Australia is still on top with four out of four wins, while two teams are yet to open their account.
Meanwhile, the South Africa tour of Pakistan saw them draw the series 1-1. After a loss in Lahore, the Proteas recorded a hard-fought win in Rawalpindi on the back of a superb 98-run 10th-wicket partnership. The Temba Bavuma-led side, however, comprehensively beat India in Kolkata and Guwahati.
