Kohli’s coach backs him to fire in Champions Trophy
Speaking to ANI, Kohli”s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma backed Virat to go all guns blazing in Champions Trophy. He claimed that just because some matches went bad, it did not mean that a player was out of touch. He backed Kohli to perform like a champion player like he always did.
“Just because some matches went bad, does not mean the player is out of touch. When you look at his (Virat) previous records, you will see what he did for the country. I believe he will be performing like a champion player that he always has been,” Rajkumar said.

Ever since making his white-ball debut, Virat Kohli has been the man for India in every ICC tournament. Take a look at the ODI World Cup 2023, where he ended up as the highest run-getter with 765 runs. In the final against Australia, Kohli made a half-century as well. Fast forward to IND vs ENG 3rd ODI, the former Indian captain scored another fifty-plus score at the very same ground—the Narendra Modi Stadium.
He had a horrible 2024, making just 655 runs at a low average of 21.83. These are stats from all format. However, he has managed to find his golden touch just before Champions Trophy. India will hope that Kohli will fire all cylinders in the marquee tournament in Dubai.
