The India Cricket Team has secured the IND vs ENG ODI series with a 2-0 in the 3-match series data Cuttack. However, England’s opener Ben Duckett believes that their main focus is the ICC Champions Trophy. Duckett claimed that even if they lost 3-0, it would be made up if the Three Lions won the ICC Trophy by beating India.
The England Cricket Team has been in huegly poor form off late. Brendan McCullum’s side has gone on to lose 6 out of their 7 matches in white ball cricket thus far. And things can become more grave if they are handed a whitewash in the ODI series. India takes on England in the 3rd ODI at Ahmedabad.
England’s main aim is to win ICC Champions Trophy
After the ODI series ends, the two teams will travel for the Champions Trophy. England Cricket Team plays their first game against eternal rivals Australia on 22nd February.
“We have come here for one thing and that is to win the Champions Trophy. We still believe we can do that. It’ll be completely different conditions, all different teams we are playing against,” Ben Duckett said.
“If we lose 3-0 to India, I don’t care as long as we beat them in the final of the Champions Trophy. If we do that, we probably won’t look back on this if we do the business in that competition,” Duckett added.

England has been poor in white-ball cricket thus far. They went on to lose the T20I series 4-1. And come the ODI series, they have already lost the series 2-0. Meanwhile, the team has been hit with a massive injury crisis as all-rounder Jacob Bethell has been ruled out of the tournament with a left hamstring tear.
“It’s about peaking at the right time. We have been close against this India side and we have been nowhere near our best. We will always take positives. We could dwell, start meetings and going at each other but the group under Baz aren’t going to do that. It’s difficult not to get the results here, but hopefully we can turn it around in Pakistan,” he concluded.
