There is no end to drama in Pakistan cricket and PSL. On Monday, former Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed was not picked in the PSL 10 draft. and now, a day later he has been made the head coach of team Quetta Gladiators. As per a report, the move has come after Aussie Shane Watson’s withdrawal, who had coached the team in 2024 season.
Sarfaraz Ahmed to Coach in PSL 10?
It is believed that Watson’s other professional commitments came in the way of him continuing as the head coach for the PSL franchise. Meanwhile, the format announcement is yet to come from the team. It is important to note, Sarfaraz has been associated with the team from the first season itself, and the player had played a significant role in taking Quetta to their only title in 2019.
Quetta Gladiators to Benefit?
Prior to this development, Sarfaraz Ahmed had bid an emotional farewell to the team. “I want to take this opportunity to thank Nadeem Bhai for giving me the opportunity to play for his team and for providing everything that I needed as a player and captain and I will always remember your support throughout this time,” Sarfaraz wrote.

PSL is scheduled to be played in the April-May window, and would clash with the IPL 2025 was well. Before that, Pakistan will also host the Champions Trophy in Feb, with India slated to play all their matches in Dubai only. As for the rest of the squad for Quetta, in the PSL draft, the team got Mark Chapman, Finn Allen, Kusal Medis, Kyle Jamieson and Kyle Abbott.
