Hyderabad FC has sacked head coach Thangboi Singto with immediate effect following the team’s disappointing performance in the ongoing Indian Super League (ISL) 2024–25 season. The team is currently at the bottom of the table, sitting in 12th place with just two wins and a draw from 11 matches. Shameel Chembakath, the assistant coach, will take over as interim head coach until further decisions are made by the club. Singto’s dismissal comes shortly after Kerala Blasters sacked their head coach Mikael Stahre due to a series of poor results.
Long association with the club
Singto has been part of Hyderabad FC since 2020, initially serving as assistant coach and technical director for youth development. He was promoted to head coach in July 2023. “Hyderabad FC thanks Mr. Singto for his dedication, professionalism, and contributions to the club and wishes him the very best for his future endeavours,” read the club’s official statement.
During his time in charge, Singto managed 36 matches across different competitions. One of his standout achievements was guiding Hyderabad FC to become the first ISL team to win a match with an all-Indian lineup last season.
