The last date to submit the retention list for IPL 2025 draws ever near. After New Zealand’s heroics in the IND vs NZ 1st Test in Bengaluru, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) might be forced to rethink their retention plans. The two Kiwi southpaws will now be on top priority to be retained by the Yellow Army.
As per rumors, Devon Conway was not in the Chennai Super Kings’ plan to be retained. But after his two knocks in the Bengaluru Test, CSK will be back on the drawing board again. Both Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra will now be the top names on the CSK Retention List.
Devon Conway in CSK’s Retention Plans
As things stood Devon Conway was not in CSK’s retention plans. But now things have taken a sharp turn. Devon Conway’s first innings score of 91 runs followed by a gritty knock of 17 runs in the second innings has turned the tide in his favor. Now the Yellow Army will be keen to retain the Kiwi opener a not risk losing him in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.
Retaining Conway makes sense too. The Kiwi star has a good strike partnership with CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad. The right-left-handed combination too works wonders for the team. And after a subpar performance in IPL 2024, the Yellow Army will now be keen to go all guns blazing on their star opener.

Rachin Ravindra – A star in the Making
Chennai Super Kings have no intention of throwing Rachin Ravindra in the auction. And why would they? The young Kiwi southpaw demonstrated his batting masterclass as he helped his side etch a memorable win over India in Bengaluru. In the first innings, Rachin hammered a stunning century, notching up 134 runs to help his side post a massive score of 402 runs.
On the other hand, the youngster yet again helped his side snatch the victory as he remained unbeaten on 39 runs. Having acquired the young batter last season in the IPL 2024 auction, CSK will be keen to build the team around the Kiwi batter to continue their quest for the 6th IPL title.
