WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2022 Rumors: WWE Reportedly Booking Roman Reigns for WrestleMania Backlash Main Event
With three weeks left for WrestleMania Backlash, WWE hasn’t booked any opponent for Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Championship. WWE has advertised Reigns for WrestleMania Backlash but no signs of a new opponent. It was speculated that Reigns would be without any opponent for WrestleMania Backlash.
According to the latest reports, Reigns will be in the main event of WrestleMania Backlash. Recently, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio gave an update on WWE booking Roman Reigns for a WrestleMania Backlash.
We were talking a couple days ago about, since they haven’t shot any angle with him, maybe they’re doing a pay-per-view without him. That is not the case. He is, in fact, in the main event. I presume they’ll shoot the angle on Friday. I don’t know that as a fact…but he is in the main event on the WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view.” [H/T Cageside Seats]
As of now, WWE has set no angle for Roman Reigns, but it seems WWE creative team will finally make an angle for Reigns’ WrestleMania Backlash.
Who will challenge Roman Reigns at WrestleMania Backlash?
Currently, Drew McIntyre is expected to be Roman Reigns’ next opponent. McIntyre is the only superstar left on the SmackDown brand who matches the level of Roman Reigns. However, if Drew McIntyre gets booked with Sami Zayn, he won’t be the possible opponent for Reigns.
Moreover, the top superstars on the Raw brand like Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, and Bobby Lashley are already booked for WrestleMania Backlash which lefts no other superstar. On the other hand, many fans speculated Brock Lesnar to challenge Reigns for a rematch at WrestleMania Backlash. But, as per the reports, WWE removed Brock Lesnar from WrestleMania Backlash.
