Many WWE fans are waiting for the return of The Hugger, who could turn the tables with her return at SummerSlam. Although WWE fans speculated about her return since this year’s Royal Rumble, WWE didn’t make any move to bring back the grand slam champion. However, recent reports suggest the multi-time champion’s return at SummerSlam.
Recently, Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported WWE scheduled Bayley to be at SummerSlam weekend in Nashville.
“For those who have asked about the status of Bayley and when she’s slated to return to WWE programming, PWInsider.com has learned she is scheduled to be in Nashville for SummerSlam weekend. Bayley has been out of action since last summer after tearing her ACL while working out in the WWE Performance Center to prepare for the company’s return to live crowds in the post-Thunderdome era,” wrote Johnson. The former SmackDown Women’s Champion is out of action since July 2021 after suffering a torn ACL injury at WWE’s Performance Centre in Orlando. Since then, she sat on the sidelines until she recovered last year but WWE didn’t call her for a potential return.

WWE SummerSlam 2022: Will Bayley confront Bianca Belair at SummerSlam?
Currently, the Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair is scheduled to face Becky Lynch at SummerSlam. However, if the EST of WWE retains her title at SummerSlam, Bayley might return to confront the champion to resume her feud. Although the conclusion of the match between Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair is uneven, many fans are expecting Bianca Belair to retain her title.
Last year, Bayley was engaged in a feud with Bianca Belair and was set to face her at MITB 2021. Unfortunately, her injury paused the feud in the middle. This time, if Bayley returns, she is likely to confront the Raw Women’s Champion or the winner or the SmackDown Women’s Champion, as she belongs to the blue brand.
